Overview:

North Sea Yachting, offers a comprehensive range of RYA courses for both power and sail, run by our friendly team and based on the East Coast. Our RYA Practical Courses are taken onboard one of the school boats which are compliant with all aspects of the codes of practice. All our instructors are trained to the highest standard.

Own Boat Tuition

Sailing and Powerboat courses can be carried out on your own boat, provided that it meets certain safety standards complying to C8 of the RYA regulations and that there are no more than five students. We also offer training, tailored to suit individuals' needs on specific aspects of seamanship, navigation and boat handling. These tuition packages can be arranged by the day or by the week. Own boat tuition is a useful way to cruise and learn by having one of our skippers on board, especially when owners are 'going foreign' for the first time.

For the duration of your course with us accommodation is provided onboard your sail training yacht.

About the area:

The local area, known as the Tendring Peninsula, provides a variety of interests and activities for all ages. The Walton Backwaters are a National Nature Reserve and Wetland of International importance and can only be explored and fully appreciated from afloat. The Naze Tower, which stands 24 metres high, was built in 1720 as a seamark for ships approaching Harwich. The Tower is open to the public. The Naze Peninsular, which protects the Walton Backwaters, is a large grassy nature reserve with attractive rolling cliffs and an abundance of wild life providing a beautiful area for walking and recreation. The nearby towns of Walton-on-the-Naze and Clacton-on-Sea offer a traditional seaside atmosphere with excellent facilities for families. The town of Frinton-on-Sea has a special appeal of it's own with tree lined avenues sweeping to the beautiful greensward.
