There will be a maximum of 6 students plus John, the Instructor. With 8 berths on board Prime Evil, this will help ensure everyone has enough space to live. Using Prime Evil we are able to let you try out three different ways of rigging storm jibs, which covers most of the options! and to rig a Trysail. We reckon by the end of the course you will agree that the Trysail is a much more useful sail than the storm jib, particularly on modern boats with roller-reefing Genoas.
The course has a good mix of sessions alongside where you will get to grips with how to set the sails, and sessions afloat putting these techniques into use at sea. You will be surprised how even moderate winds can make the job harder!
The course is aimed at anyone who has sailed before and is looking to expand their knowledge base, and would be of particular use to anyone looking to do their Day Skipper or higher level course in the future.
We run a number of these courses through the year, with the next two being :-
Evening of the 17th through to afternoon of the 19th February
Evening of the 16th through to afternoon of the 18th March
