RYA sailing school in Spain and beside Gibraltar: Yachting Sotogrande
Location: San Martin del Tesorillo, Cádiz, Spain
Based in the exquisite setting of Sotogrande, between Gibraltar and Marbella, you can benefit from an expectation of some great weather and yet experience all you need to attain the level of seamanship you want.
The courses typically involve entry into Spanish, British and Moroccan ports, with the tidal aspects being covered in the spectacular setting of the Straits of Gibraltar.
Our aim is for you to have a great time whilst you learn and enjoy everything the area has to offer.
The school Principal, Simon Thompson, is a Commercially Endorsed Yachtmaster Ocean in both Sail and Power and can provide or arrange all types of tuition in both Sailing Boats or Motor Cruisers

Accommodation:
Whilst on board you are provided with breakfast, lunches, and three evening meals. It is likely that the two remaining meals will be eaten ashore, which are not included in the course price. The booking form includes a section on dietary needs. You will sleep on board every night.
Clothing:
Onboard you are supplied with bedding, a lifejacket, and a harness. You should bring with your own toiletries and towels. Although our boat has hot and cold running water, showering facilities are available at every stop. It is important to bring some warmer clothes. It can be quite fresh at any time of the year either whilst at sea or during forays ashore in the evening! We do not provide waterproofs and it is advisable to bring them, although during the warmer months these need only be light weight.
About the area:
Sotogrande Marina was chosen for our Yachting Centre due to its unique location. It is the most beautiful marina between Portugal and the Balearic islands, it lies on the border of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean as well as Europe and the African Continent . It boasts some of the most spectacular views and its sailing grounds are some of the most varied and exciting in the world
How to Get Here:
There are Three airports near Sotogrande,
Gibraltar being the nearest, Malaga and Jerez. Gibraltar Airport British Airways, Monarch and
Easy Jet all offer flights to Gibraltar from the UK.
