At Aegean Sailing School you’ll get excellent tuition in English from RYA qualified instructors on comfortable, well-equipped boats. Situated in the historic Saronic Gulf, near Athens, you can combine a holiday in Greece with learning to sail in the stunning Aegean Sea.
Over the past six years our school has grown from berthing a single boat on a rickety pier to having our own yacht pontoon in the main harbour on Aegina island.
Every year we welcome hundreds of students from all around the world but, as the school has expanded, we’ve worked hard to retain the personal service and relaxed atmosphere that our customers love.
Don’t expect the sort of luxury you’d find on a cruise ship or fancy motor yacht – a sailing boat is designed for sailing, not comfortable living. The cabins are small and you may have to share a bathroom – facilities on most yachts feel like a cross between a caravan and a tent, so think 'camping on water' and you've got the idea.
Sailing in Greece is very unspoilt and informal. You won't find smart marinas or sophisticated facilities. At midday you will anchor in a pretty bay to swim from the boat in the crystal clear sea, showering off in fresh water on the stern, before eating a delicious lunch in the cockpit. In the evening you will moor up at a town quay or in a small fishing harbour, where you can step ashore for a meal in a traditional taverna.
Whether you’re learning to sail for the first time or advancing to become a qualified skipper, sailing with Aegean Sailing School will be an experience to treasure for years to come.
(*please bring your own swim towels)
Prices do not include flights, transfers, personal travel insurance, or evening meals.

Despite being just 31km from Athens and a playground for wealthy Athenians, the island is unspoilt and blessed with nice beaches, pretty ports and fabulous walking routes.
Aegina is approximately 85 km2 in size with a population of around 12,500. The island is quite mountainous but has green valleys and plains where pistachio, grapes, olives, figs, and almonds are grown. The island's pistachio nuts are said to be the best in the world!
Aegina even has its own historical site - the beautiful Sanctuary of Aphaia. Set high on a hillside overlooking the sea it has a unique and wonderful atmosphere.
