Overview:
Our main aim at Brittany Sailing is for our clients to enjoy themselves while learning the necessary skills to run and/or skipper a yacht safely and confidently as we cruise the fantastic waters of the Brittany Coast and Islands.
All our courses are TIDAL COURSES so you can use your certificate anywhere in the world.
And if conditions are a little too rough out at sea then we are very fortunate in having the huge sheltered waters of the Rade de Brest to sail in. The Rade de Brest is a vast area of 150 square kilometres open to the sea to the west by an opening 1.8km wide and boasting a fabulous nautical environment with a modern marina and every watersport possible being available. To ensure you receive the best possible tuition in a pleasant environment we only have a maximum of 4 students on board at any one time. We offer all Tidal Practical RYA training courses from Competent Crew through to Yachtmaster Offshore (Preparation course) all over 5 days.
NOTE:
All our courses are TIDAL COURSES so you can use your certificate anywhere in the world.
( With a non-tidal certificate you can only sail in the Mediterranean & Baltic.

Our Training Yacht

Our tidal sailing courses are taken on 'Cornish Legend', a steel Van De Stadt 34' yacht which has been purpose built to extremely high standards. There is a comfortable cockpit and a sun bathing area on the fore deck. The foresail is a furling genoa and the main sail has slab reefing. She carries all the required safety gear .

About the area:
Camaret is situated on the most western point of the Crozon Peninsula but is ideally protected from the Atlantic weather as it is tucked round Point de Penhir and faces east. There is a long breakwater that has a delightful church at the end together with the magnificent old fort which used to protect the town from invaders (including the Brits!). Camaret is a smaller version of St. Ives, in Cornwall, as it has many art galleries, shops, cafes/bars and restaurants surrounding the picturesque harbour. There are two marinas at Camaret which can be entered at all states of the tide. CORNISH LEGEND is berthed in the inside one. Camaret is beautifully positioned for sailing as it is only about half an hour from the entrance to the Rade De Brest and is central for cruising north or south along the Breton coast. We can also pick up our guests from the Moulin Blanc marina at Brest, if flying in.
