Come sailing with Hercules Sailing in Gibraltar, sail between the Pillars of Hercules and enjoy the wonderful opportunity of completing an RYA Tidal sailing course.

From Start Yachting to Yachtmaster Offshore and beyond.

Primarily Gibraltar offers blue seas and sunny skies with enough wind to keep the sails filled. Weather patterns can bring days of stronger winds when sailing is more challenging but under the careful supervision of our experienced Instructors you can benefit from practising your boat handling skills in stronger winds with confidence.

Our Intercontinental Sailing weekly intinerary covers our home base in Marina Bay Gibraltar, across the Strait to Morocco, the popular Spanish enclave in Morocco of Ceuta as well as mainland Spanish marinas.

The intention if these courses is to improve your ability in the sport and therefore allow you to gain more enjoyment from yachting. Attempting anything above your current level can be disheartening so, please do contact us and we will be more than happy to discuss your individual needs with complete honesty.

All our courses have a maximum of 5 students and our Instructors plan an itinerary taking into account the ability of the crew, the weather conditions and the requirements to cover the syllabus.

We always sail in excess of 100 miles, ordinarily 120/130 and are usually away from our home base for 4 nights with one at anchor.

All our students are kept informed of their progress throughout the course as well as after specific tasks. You will be given the opportunity to participate fully in the running of the yacht and crew.

There are no formal examinations on these courses but you are continually assessed by your instructor and every successful student receives an RYA certificate of competence upon completion.

Our 5/6 day courses start at 18.00 on Sunday evening - allowances can be made for the arrival of any later flights from the UK. If you are on an earlier flight it may be possible to board your yacht earlier if she is prepared. You will be advised if this is the case. We finish about 17.00 on the Friday evening and you may leave once the boat is clean and tidy or if your return flight is not until the Saturday you may stay aboard free of charge for the additional night.

Included in the course fee is: All breakfasts, lunches and snacks, 3 evening meals, Freshly laundered sheets and duvets (no sleeping bags), Free loan of wet weather clothing (not boots), 5 FULL days sailing (weather conditions permitting), Expert tuition, Only couples to share cabins and NO surcharge for singles.

Company Overview:
Our Principal and Instructors are extremely experienced with many miles 'under the keel'. The Principal has completed 10 Trans Atlantics and has been teaching in Gibraltar, the Caribbean, Canaries and the UK for over 20 years. One of our regular instructors has circumnavigated the world and all are either current boat owners or have been recently.

The practical instructors are supported in the office by a Yachtmaster Ocean, who is qualified to teach our shore based courses. She has been 1st Mate on 4 Trans Atlantic crossings and has a tale or two to tell that helps bring the theory sessions to life.
