Sailing Courses:
All our activities aim at developing your skill and experience. We have students/clients that have gone on to do the RORC Fastnet and/or to become instructors in their own right. However, you do not need to follow a formal syllabus. The RYA courses provide some excellent levels but it is vital to build your skills in between, as most sailors will admit that they learn something new every time they go on the water - this is certainly the environment we want to encourage, there is so much to learn and skills to develop.
In addition to our beginner and 5 day sailing course, our weekend sailing programme offers the opportunity to identify the skills and knowledge required and then get more practice. Our cruising activities enable you to go further a field across to France, or further along the coast building passage experience and enabling sea miles to be built up.
Race Training:
We offer a number of opportunities for you to gain skills & experience with one of the best being racing. We have been participating in JOG (Junior Offshore Group) for several seasons; the great thing about JOG is the interesting places that the races go to.
The JOG series cover offshore to Cherbourg, Fécamp, Alderney & inshore around the Solent area to Poole and Yarmouth. The great challenge that racing brings is the passage experience and sail & boat handling. We usually have a mixture of experienced crew aboard so you don’t need to be very experienced but it is usually a good idea to do a sail training or race training weekend first so you know your way around the boat. You can see a list of the races we are participating in and read a little more about JOG in our Sailing Adventure Cruise section.
