Powerboat Courses:
Based in the Solent, Mendez Marine was founded by Jon Mendez, who until 2005, was the chief power and motorboat instructor at the RYA.
Many owners wish to make better use of their vessel. As an RYA Training Centre we are able to offer the full range of Powerboating and Shorebased Courses. We offer competitive rates and our highly experienced instructors regularly travel all over Europe
Own Boat Tuition:
Formal certified training alone does not always cover what yo
u require. We specialise in offering training and advice suited to your needs, whether it be close quarters boat handling, navigation, all types of electronics, or even assistance on your first passage further afield. Additionally you benefit from a better understanding of your crafts systems and handling characteristics. You get the benefit of specialised tuition with your regular crew, family or even one to one.
All our instructors are highly experienced and chosen not just for their knowledge, but also for their sense of humour and passion for boating.
We also run RYA motorboat training courses.

Company Overview:
John Mendez - Principal: Jon’s keen interest in boats started at a young age with friends and family on the River Thames. He has been teaching professionally for the last ten years.
He is an RYA Yachtmaster, Instructor Examiner and a Powerboat Trainer; this work has taken him across the world from Scotland to New Zealand and all over the Mediterranean on craft up to 40 meters.
