Motor Boat Courses Spain with Club Sail

Motor Boat Courses:
Your 6 day RYA approved course will be held on one of our motor yachts, complete with 7 nights accommodation on your yacht. All our yachts are commercially registered in Spain (and therefore fully insured for Spanish waters) and come equipped with all the safety equipment one would expect from a modern RYA Recognised Training Centre.

As members of the British Marine Federation and Marine Leisure Association, as well as being inspected by the RYA, you can rest assured that our motor yachts are maintained to the highest standards and have the protection of the only UK trade association, endorsed by The Trading Standards Institute, for training, charter and holidays.

Your course normally starts with a safety briefing on the first evening, followed by some free time to allow you to settle in and enjoy dinner. The following morning we complete the safety briefing and then set off. Our training area tends to be around the Western Canary Islands, covering places such as: Tenerife, La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro.

Unlike other sea schools, we usually next see our home marina when we return six days later at around 5pm. You can then relax on this your last evening. The next morning you can make use of the facilities of the pretty Marina del Sur, before we take you back to the airport.

Our prices include:

• Transfers to and from Tenerife South Airport - no additional costs or waiting around for a taxi, and in the marina within 15 minutes of your pick-up;
• Tuition from a Yachtmaster Instructor with more than 15 years experience – we do not use instructors who have just qualified
• 6 day courses – enough time to do Helmsman and Day Skipper, a combined Day Skipper course or Coastal Skipper;
• Client instructor ratio of 4:1;
• Bedding and towels – no need to bring your own;
• Light weight waterproofs – just in case;
• Food and drink on board – including a gin and tonic or a beer after a days sailing, and two evening meals.

Additionally we also offer RYA Powerboat Courses in Spain, RYA Sailing Courses in Spain, and Milebuilder Adventure Cruises from our base on Tenerife.

As an RYA approved training centre we offer: tidal sailing courses from Competent Crew to Yachtmaster Ocean; motor cruising from Helmsman to Yachtmaster Offshore; powerboat courses from Level 1 to Advanced, and also conversion courses from 10m to 24m.

Club Sail is run by Andrew Williams (an RYA Sail, Motor and Powerboat Examiner, and also Advanced Powerboat Instructor, Yachtmaster Ocean, Motor and Sail Instructor), and his Chief Instructor Mike Stewart (also a Yachtmaster Ocean Instructor) and his team ensuring that we have the right experienced instructors to suit you.

• RIB Charter, an Explorer 550 complete with diving bottle holder for charter.
• RYA Approved Training Centre for sailing courses, motor crsuigin, powerboat courses and shorebased courses

Location & How to Find Us:
All practical courses are run from Marina del Sur on Tenerife, and all shorebased courses from our purpose designed classroom adjacent to the marina.

Tenerife is the largest island of the archipelago which is the Canary Islands. The Island extends over 2.057 square kilometers and the main geographical feature is Mount Teide which is the highest in Spain. The climate in the south is dry and hot.

The Island is served by two airports, one in the north, Los Rodeos, and another in the south, Reina Sofía. We offer a free transfer service from Reina Sofía.
