Our Sailing Courses:
Originally dedicated to boat maintenance, building
and repair, Solva Sailboats sailing school was set up in 1986 because
the workers wanted to be out in the fresh air. RYA Recognition followed
in 1990 and since then hundreds of indivi duals
have learnt to sail starting out from our base on Trinity Quay.
We aim to provide highly professional tuition combined with the
flexibility that stems from being one of the smallest sailing schools
in the country. Weather permitting we are prepared to sail throughout
the year and are happy to provide tuition in your own boat if that
is what you want. Our own fleet is small, constantly updated, well-equipped
and carefully chosen to provide a variety of water-borne experience.Tuition
is always in groups of three or less and we will sometimes run courses
simply for one person.
A small crack in the rocks on the beautiful
Pembrokeshire coast, once a thriving trading port and still an active
fishing harbour. The inlet itself is difficult to sail in because
of the high cliffs, but once outside Black Rock the wonder of St
Bride's Bay is revealed. 30 Square Miles of open water often without
another boat in sight, without obstructions or strong tidal streams.
A wonderful place to learn how to handle a boat.
Our Courses
Price assumes at least two people on the course. Please contact us if you would like individual tuition and we will quote you a competitive rate.
If you're not sure which course you want, or you'd like something not listed here, give us a ring and we'll do our best to provide helpful advice.
We run our courses to order, so when you have decided what course you would like contact us to arrange a mutually convenient time. Bookings should be accompanied by a 30% deposit (non-returnable except in the event of the course being cancelled by us). The balance is payable at the start of your course. About a fortnight before your course is due to begin we will mail you an outline syllabus and how-to-find-us information.
