Overview:

>> ADULT COURSES
RYA National Sailing Scheme: Level 1 (Start Sailing) – Level 2 (Basic Skills) - Seamanship Skills / Day Sailing / Sailing with Spinnakers & Trapezing. Our adult courses are taught with a high instructor to pupil ratio and boats are chosen to suit your ability. To start with you will have an instructor with you in the boat to help give you confidence while learning the basics. As your skills improve, the instructor will then coach you from a safety boat. As far as possible you will be sailing with people of similar ability and experience. Our wide range of courses means that whatever your experience there is a course to suit your requirements. We can also offer keelboat sailing lessons, for more information please contact us.

>> JUNIOR COURSES 11-16 Year Olds
Once off and running junior sailors are unstoppable, charging through the Junior stages and on to the heady heights of the National Sailing Scheme. Constantly under the watchful eye of our instructors, the junior course offers the perfect blend of fun and guidance to make sure every child in the group gets as much as possible from their time with us.

>> YOUNG MARINERS 8-13 Year Olds
Our Young Mariner Courses follow the RYA Junior Scheme Stages 1-2 before progressing on to the more advanced RYA courses. These courses are certificated, with instructors selected to work with Young Mariner fleets for their experience, keen sense of fun and caring nature. We ensure that all aspects of safety are covered from correct kit to constant monitoring by safety boat. Young Mariners will have the ‘time of their life’ sailing boats from our RS, Laser and Wayfarer fleet in an environment that inspires learning and increases self-confidence.

Our boats and equipment

We choose the best and most suitable equipment for you. We have a comprehensive sailing fleet of modern boats from Laser and RS, including the Vision and the already well-established Laser Picos and RS Fevas. We also use a range of Wayfarer double-handed dinghies, to deliver a stable learning craft for experience in both helming and crewing. Powerboats include a 5.4m Avon Sea Rider, displacement boats & Jeanneau ‘O’ Boats for safety cover.

A sailing school cannot run efficiently without backup and SailCraft is just one department of Northshore Sport & Leisure. The parent company also provides the following services:
