East Anglian Sea School has set the standard for training excellence on the East Coast for 38 years. EASS is based on the East Coast of Britain, at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, Levington, on the River Orwell, half way between Ipswich and Felixstowe.Founded in 1973, as a small family business then called East Anglian School of Sailing, it has grown into one of the foremost Royal Yachting Association RYA sea schools in the country. As well as being an RYA training centre we are recognized by the Marine Coast guard Agency MCA and the International Sailing Association Federation ISAF and Sea fish.

Still owned by the second generation of the same family, the school has been around for as long as the RYA training scheme. There are good road and rail links to Levington and the marina is well signposted from the main routes.

The school has 45 friendly, approachable, patient and knowledgable instructors, qualified to the highest standards in sailing, motor cruising, power boating and dinghy sailing.
Training afloat is run using a fleet of Strata yachts, motorcruisers, powerboats and dinghies from Jeanneau, Fairline, Ribeye, Wayfarer and Laser, all maintained to MCA standards.

We have 9 PICO dinghies which we use for training both adults and children. In the summer we use a moored platform allowing students to get on and off the boats more easily and safely. We also have 3 (red, blue, white) of the latest asymmetric Wayfarers. These can carry up to 3 people (with an instructor) so are ideal for teaching small groups, and allow less experienced students to sail.

Suffolk Yacht Harbour is the East Coast's leading independent, privately owned Marina. Located on the River Orwell at Levington, Suffolk, the Marina is well connected being only two miles from the main A14 between Felixstowe and Ipswich.

The marina has 550 berths and additional swinging moorings.

Its has its own boatyard, maintenance, repair and chandlery facilities, top class sailmaking, spar and rigging services, electronics, brokerage and new boat sales aswell as inboard/outboard engineering.

If you need a meal while in harbour, you need look no further than the Haven Ports Yacht Club restaurant, conveniently located in the famous red lightship.

Our Offices are in the heart of the harbour. We have good relations with the Yacht Harbour aswell as the other companies which are housed here, and often meet at the lighship.

We are based in East Anglia at Suffolk Yacht Harbour on the river Orwell 2 miles from the Sea at Levington near Ipswich in Suffolk with good road and rail links and the marina is well signposted from the main routes. We are only 153 miles form Cowes and the Solent Just down the River from Felixstowe one of the largest commercial container ports in the UK and Harwich- Parkeston passenger terminal.
