Overview:
Come and learn to sail or improve your technique on the beautiful Mar Menor. The water is incredibly warm and provides the perfect conditions to build confidence. We have taught people from the ages of 6 to 76--anyone can try!

We normally teach sailing in a boat accompanied by an instructor. Our maximum student instructor ratio is 3 to 1, though more commonly it is 2 to 1. Most other sailing schools will teach using a student instructor ratio of 6 to 1 they achieve this by teaching people in single handed boats, often putting adults into a small dinghy like a Laser Pico which is more suited to children. Our experience tells us that most people do not learn well this way. Our style of teaching is great for all ages. We find more mature sailors really appreciate our individual tuition which can be adapted to their fitness and previous experience. Children also react well since they are in a safe environment (the instructor is always onboard to help) which helps them to relax and learn.

We offer three course levels for adults (Learn to Sail and Levels 1 & 2) and four levels for youth (Stages 1-4). All courses are practically based and any theory required is usually carried out on the water. Children can learn alongside adults as the material covered is basically the same; youngsters will simply receive different certificates at the end of the course. No RYA certificates can be issued, but all training follows the RYA syllabus.

Through our private lessons we can offer tailor-made tuition either via a single 2 hour lesson or a course of lessons. We will take the lessons at your pace whether you are a complete beginner or intermediate sailor. For the more experienced sailor we can also offer tuition using the trapeze and spinnaker if you want a thrill! Lessons are tailored to the individual, we can focus on improving certain techniques or work through a set programme. We run private lessons for both groups and individuals and they can be scheduled whenever you want. These are a great option if you haven't been out on the water for a while and want to brush up your skills before renting a boat or just need to spend some time in the water to increase your confidence. We also offer Advanced Sailing tuition via coaching sessions.

Why Choose Aqua Adicta

Although professional instruction to RYA standards is promised at many holiday destinations our experience and that of many of our clients is that it often falls short of expectations. Instructors are often young students who are hired for a season and are more interested in enjoying themselves than teaching; groups are large and individual assistance can rarely be given unless additional tuition is paid for.

All instruction at Aqua Adicta is given by Julian or Lesley who will do their utmost to ensure you have a good time and learn a great deal. For 6 weeks during high season we hire carefully selected experienced instructors to work with us.

About the area:
The Mar Menor is the perfect location for all types of watersports, whether it be dinghy sailing, windsurfing or kayaking. Dinghy sailors can enjoy a huge sailing area which is surprisingly under-utilised. Windsurfers can learn in shallow waters until they gain their confidence and kayakers can explore areas which are inaccessible to other craft.

Our watersports centre is located on the beach and for those not wishing to take part, there is plenty of opportunity to relax on the beach and watch the activities.

There is a straight road from the junction of the RM12 into Mar de Cristal lined with palm trees.
As you enter Mar de Cristal, go straight ahead at the first roundabout and right at the second roundabout. Follow the dual carriageway to the end, you will then be forced to take a 90 degree bend to the left. Follow the road around the corner and then take the second turn on the right (opposite the Upper Autoservico). Go straight down the road, over two speed bumps and then take the second turn on the left. We are in a large white house on the right hand side, one road back from the beach.
