East Anglian Sea School has set the standard for training excellence on the East Coast for 38 years. EASS is based on the East Coast of Britain, at Suffolk Yacht Harbour, Levington, on the River Orwell, half way between Ipswich and Felixstowe.Founded in 1973, as a small family business then called East Anglian School of Sailing, it has grown into one of the foremost Royal Yachting Association RYA sea schools in the country. As well as being an RYA training centre we are recognized by the Marine Coast guard Agency MCA and the International Sailing Association Federation ISAF and Sea fish.
Still owned by the second generation of the same family, the school has been around for as long as the RYA training scheme. There are good road and rail links to Levington and the marina is well signposted from the main routes.
The school has 45 friendly, approachable, patient and knowledgable instructors, qualified to the highest standards in sailing, motor cruising, power boating and dinghy sailing. Training afloat is run using a fleet of Strata yachts, motorcruisers, powerboats and dinghies from Jeanneau, Fairline, Ribeye, Wayfarer and Laser, all maintained to MCA standards.
A wide range of courses are on offer, to cater for people new to boating right through to experts, in all areas from start yachting or Helmsman's courses, Competent crew, Day Skipper through to Coastal Skipper and on to Yachtmaster and Yachtmaster Ocean and are run all year round, on weekends as well as during the week.
Our classrooms
East Anglian Sea School has three classrooms of varying sizes all equipt with up-to-date Projectors , and presentations. Marine Radio simulators , Practice diesel engine models for students to gain hands on experience . many other pieces of equipment ready to be used for a variety of different courses.
Classroom 1
This is the largest of our classrooms, and is used for a lot of the larger groups, with a capacity to hold 16.

Classroom 2
This is the second largest of our classrooms, with a capacity to hold 14.

Suffolk Yacht Harbour is the East Coast's leading independent, privately owned Marina. Located on the River Orwell at Levington, Suffolk, the Marina is well connected being only two miles from the main A14 between Felixstowe and Ipswich.
The marina has 550 berths and additional swinging moorings.
Its has its own boatyard, maintenance, repair and chandlery facilities, top class sailmaking, spar and rigging services, electronics, brokerage and new boat sales aswell as inboard/outboard engineering.
If you need a meal while in harbour, you need look no further than the Haven Ports Yacht Club restaurant, conveniently located in the famous red lightship.
Our Offices are in the heart of the harbour. We have good relations with the Yacht Harbour aswell as the other companies which are housed here, and often meet at the lighship.
