Overview:
Welcome to Corfu Sea School. We are a British owned, Royal Yachting Association (RYA) approved sailing school. From our base in Corfu, Greece, we provide the complete range of sail cruising and powerboat courses (including Competent Crew, Day Skipper, Coastal Skipper, Yachtmaster®, ICC and all associated sPowerboat Course training centre in Greecehore-based courses). The school operates from March to November and prides itself on offering relaxed yet comprehensive tuition in all aspects of boating including; sailing, navigation and seamanship. All our practical courses are run on modern, fully equipped yachts and powerboats that meet the stringent requirements of the MCA Safety Code. Whether you are a complete novice, improver or 'old hand' looking to gain a specific qualification we are confident that we can provide a course to suit you. We believe that learning to sail should be fun and sailing in Greece provides the ideal environment in which to get the most out of your course. The blue skies and warm waters of the Mediterranean make yachting and powerboating in Greece a truly enjoyable experience. Corfu Sea School was the first yacht training centre to be recognised by the RYA in Greece, so our experience is second to none.

Our RYA powerboat training vessel

For our RYA Powerboat courses we use medium powered RIBs. 'Anemos' is our principal training boat. She is a 4.5m Zodiac RON powered by a 60HP, 2-Stroke Evinrude outboard . She is easy to handle yet reaches a top speed of 35 knots.

About the area:
We are based in Gouvia Marina on the island of Corfu. From here we set sail into the Ionian Sea to visit many of the area's famous islands and bays including: Paxos, Lefkas, Ithaca and Cephalonia (please note: we do not 'day sail' from a marina, we sail to and overnight in different ports and anchorages every day). On a normal day we will sail between 20 and 30 miles. We have an intimate knowledge of our sailing area. This means that, even during peak periods, we can find deserted bays and coves undiscovered by the flotillas and charter boats. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and much of it is protected by environmental laws. We often see dolphins, turtles and even the odd whale. And, unlike the Aegean Sea, our islands are exotically green, filled with olive groves, palm and cyprus trees. From March to June it is a riot of colour with spring flowers.
How to Get Here:
We are only 15 minutes from Corfu International Airport. Beware, other schools may require you to travel for many hours after you have arrived in the country. EasyJet fly here everyday from the UK (from April to November) and all the major european airlines have Corfu as a destination.
