Assisted Bareboat Charters

Whether you require an introduction to yachting, a crewing certificate or, for those with some sailing experience, a skippers’ certificate or ICC, we can offer any of these options while aboard the lead yacht in a flotilla environment in the ideal surroundings of the southern Ionian Sea, Greece. If you just want to learn to sail without any worries on syllabus then that's fine too. The lead boat in every flotilla we run offers sailing tuition thereby enabling you to take part in the flotilla although you may have no experience at the start.
We can cater for singles, couples, families or groups, at any level of experience.
For those wishing to participate as part of the flotilla but without the tuition options you are welcome to do this for a charge of £100 per week. In addition to this you need to budget for your yacht charter which we can arrange for you.

Flotilla Overview:
The assisted bareboat programme offers the key elements of support of a standard flotilla, without the disadvantages of being part of a large group of yachts or people. This option should appeal to both first time charterers in the Ionian and the more experienced Ionian sailor. The reassurance of an experienced ‘lead skipper’ offers not only key local knowledge, but also valuable back up if required, especially when mooring.
Numbers are limited to six yachts per week; please contact us with your dates for availability. Normal weekly turnaround is Sunday. However, if your flights/boat booking are on other days, please contact us, we may have a solution.
Here are some general point regarding our flotillas:
- Although following a set route for the week (with possible alternative destinations) you are completely free to spend the day sailing as you wish, as on a bareboat charter.
- The best winds in the Ionian are in the afternoon, so ABC can offer more flexibility on the times for arriving in port. Of course, the later your yacht arrives, the less the chance of a quayside berth. This is where ABC comes into its own. We may not be able to park your yacht on the quay, but with our experience of Ionian ports, we will endeavour to park you somewhere safe, usually anchored in a raft, with a shoreline. The tender will be used to go ashore.
- Once in port, the evenings are your own. You may wish to socialize with others in the group, or not, that is entirely your choice. After all, it is your holiday.
- Group meals, etc. will only be arranged on request.
- The lead skipper will be on hand to provide local information, weather updates, and importantly to assist in mooring your yacht, especially in busier ports, leaving you to enjoy your sailing and have a relaxing holiday.
