The majority of the French coastline fronts the Atlantic Ocean, whilst approximately 20% is in the Mediterranean. Whilst areas such as Marseille tend to be quite industrialised (it is a major port after all), there are many beautiful ports and anchorages all around the coastline with Brittany being many peoples favourite.
Our favourite? Try Collioure,
just south of Perpignan. There's no marina, but
there is room for c. 15 craft to anchor in the
sheltered bay and aside from being utterly picturesque,
it's within easy striking distance of Spain too!
