Sailing Courses:
Our school operates from Lossiemouth on the East coast of Scotland, one of the many picturesque and friendly fishing harbours situated on this uncluttered and scenic coast.

Renowned for its own benign microclimate, this unique cruising area hosSailing the Moray Firthts a vast array of marine and bird life, as well as having access to Inverness, the highland capital, and the unique beauty and history of the Orkney Islands.

You can enter the RYA scheme at any stage according to your knowledge and exerience; there is no requirement to start at beginners' level. If you are unsure whether you are Day Skipper of Coastal Skipper standard, it is often easier to let your instructor advise during the first few days of your course. Whichever level you choose, you will be taught to the best of your ability.

The instructor will be aware that you are there because you enjoy yachting, and that for most people the cruise is a holiday as well as a course. All our courses a run on our Dufour 36, Windshift

Additional Comments:

  • our 5 days courses (Competent Crew, Day Skipper & Coastal Skipper) run either as a 5 day course from Sunday 9pm to Friday 5pm or over three weekends, Sunday 9pm to Saturday 5pm.
  • On our courses, all meals are provided (breakfast, lunch and dinner, also snacks as needed). Should you wish to eat ashore occasionally, then the cost is borne by yourself.

Based from picturesque Lossiemouth within easy reach of the Orkney Islands, Moray Firth offers RYA courses, day sailing, Corporate Days and Skippered Charter on board Windshift, our Dufour 36 Classic.

We're fortunate in benefiting from a benign microclimate which makes cruising from Lossiemouth all the better. The scenery is breathtaking, and the marine abd bird life vast.

If you like the idea of sailing and wish to try it, then why not join us for a day aboard "Windshift" in the Moray Firth. We will provide you with snacks and lunch aboard the yacht. Alternatively we offer weekend taster sails during which you can sample the delights of cruising, and brush up on your sailing skills.

Location & How to Find Us:
Lossiemouth is just 2 hrs by road and rail from Aberdeen airport (flights daily from London and Southampton) and 40 minutes from Inverness.We are happy to pick clients up from Elgin train station, which is 15 minutes journey by road from Lossiemouth.
