Company Overview:
Meet the Instructors:
Eric
Eric started sailing in his early teens, on a square rigger in the Moray Firth in Scotland with the Outward Bound Trust. This experience and the early underwater documentaries of Hans and Lotte Has created a love of the open sea, both above and below the waves, which has endured unabated to this day. His sail cruising experience dates back to the mid 70's since when he has covered many thousands of miles in a variety of sail and power boats, including traditional long keelers, modern fin keel cruiser/racers, catamarans and trimarans.

Linda
Deciding that living a life in the sunshine would be far preferable than under the grey skies of England, Linda packed up a rucksack and headed out to the Mediterranean. Leaving behind an exciting career in film and theatre in London, Linda swapped film premieres for oilskins and trained as a sailing instructor in the cold waters of the Solent and English Channel before setting her sights on the warmer waters of Mallorca. After running highly successful courses as part of the Solaris team throughout the 2004 season, Linda finished off the year with a transatlantic crossing from the Balearics to Antigua.

Russ
Russ started out competing at both sprint and slalom canoeing, combining this in the early days with Sub-aqua diving. He kicked off his sailing for a short time sailing mirror dinghies on the lakes of South Wales.

About 18 years ago Russ took to sailing small cruisers predominantly around the south and east coast of the UK. Since then Russ has progressed up to an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor, simultaneously becoming a British Sub-Aqua Diving instructor. With well over 10,000 nautical miles behind him, he has delivered boats to various parts of the North Atlantic, Mediterranean and Caribbean. To compliment his sailing skills, Russ is an enthusiastic cook and great company.

Additional Comments:

  • Arrival time - Sunday 14.00 hours onwards. (Please try to arrive during day light hours, as we cannot guarantee to have someone to meet you at the Marina after 22.00 hours.)
Departure time - Sunday 10.00 hours. Please note the departure time cannot be extended due to the short turn around time to prepare the boat for the next crew.
Unless otherwise stated courses run over 5 days, commencing Monday at 0930 hours and concluding Friday at 1630 hours.
  • What to bring: Storage space is limited so we suggest that you travel light. The atmosphere is also very informal, so there is no need for an extensive wardrobe - ladies may like to bring a summer dress and men a lightweight pair of trousers but you will probably find yourself living in swim wear or shorts and t-shirts. What ever you bring, please carry it in a soft-sided bag for easy storage and not a suitcase. During the late summer and winter season you will require wet weather gear and sailing wellies. A jumper, sweatshirt and lightweight trousers are handy year round for the cooler evenings and night-time sailing.
  • Additionally... Sun and Wind Cream, Toiletries, Towels and Sea Sickness Tablets. Don't forget your camera as the dolphins frequently visit us.
Please note, bed linen will be provided. (Pillowcase, 2 Sheets and a Blanket)
