nder power and sail must be built quickly. The training ratio for RYA Sea Shools is up to 5 students plus one instructor. Couples, Groups and Families can book from 2 to 5 (plus instructor) on board if they wish.
e will give you a briefing on living aboard the boat and some important safety information , make sure you are settled in , then you are free to visit Split or Trogir and explore these ancient cities and find lively bars and restaurants locally . After breakfast on Sunday morning we leave to find a pleasant lunchtime bay for a swim ! Each day you will find yourself in another island harbour with the days training and cruising broken by a generous stop for lunch and relaxing . We are tied up usually by 6pm and enjoying sundowners and showers , then you are free again to explore ashore and relax . Dinner can be taken together or separately - its your holiday time and we will leave this to the crew to decide …but we usually enjoy a great social evening !

Company Overview:
Using his lifelong experience as a professional skipper and cruising boat owner The Principal Nigel Turnbull chose the area in 2004 for its undeveloped natural beauty , proximity of many islands and clean waters combined with modern facilities , excellent cuisine and friendly people . Since then the school has built a large international client base and a solid reputation for great sail training . All ages are welcome , remember the language used is English .
When considering us don’t forget that our prices including ‘7 nights aboard + 6 full days of cruising the islands away from the base’ is matched by very few schools outside the UK (they usually offer 5 days plus 6th optional). Our growing number of referrals and returning customers has proved that our ability to teach thoroughly whilst they enjoy a superb sailing holiday is an unbeatable combination.
Location & How to Find Us:
Based very close to Split Town and Airport you will find us in the heart of the beautiful Dalmatian Islands with a variety of old world towns and bays all within an easy days sailing . With sheltered waters for beginners and offshore passages to challenge the more experienced sailors this is truly the perfect location for a sailing adventure! All are welcome to sail here with us and enjoy a high standard of tuition whilst cruising in one of the most interesting and naturally unspoiled archipelagos in Europe .
From the beginning in 2005 we remain a small school with 3 boats but this maintains a high standard in personal service, the quality of dedicated instructors, and we can offer custom sailing packages for singles, couples , groups and families as well as private tuition if you keep a boat here …!
We are also happy to have you join us on a sailing course and your friends or family enjoying the ride!
Visit www.marina-kastela.hr for the base location (15 mins from Airport). Split is about 100 miles north of Dubrovnik, in central Dalmatia. Flights to Split or Zadar Airport from the UK and many other European cities , about 2hrs 20 mins from London. You can also Ferry across from Italy. By Car - Many customers drive here, easy access by motorway all the way to Split from central and eastern Europe + secure parking at the marina €50/week.
