Sailing Courses:
We are an RYA approved Training Centre and offer a broad range of practical and theory courses, as well as tailored tuition, cruising, racing and charter.
We're not one the largest sailing schools - b ut we like to think we're one of the friendliest! We definitely try our hardest to provide the very highest quality of sailing and teaching.
Most sailing schools have a pupil ratio of 5 students to 1 instructor. At South Coast we take just 2, 3 or 4 students. This allows us to attend to everyone's particular needs and to cater for couples and small groups seeking specific experience.
We also appreciate how hard it can be for busy people to find an extra week of holiday to take a five day course,
so apart from our five day Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Prep' courses, most of our courses are run over one, two (or occasionally) three weekends.
Our boats are Swedish built cruiser / racers based at Ocean Village Marina, Southampton. They are easily handled under sail and power and provide the ideal combination of safety, comfort and fast passage making.
Many of our students return to take more advanced courses or to race or cruise with us - to gain more miles and experience - or just to have a great sail.
Above all we aim to make our sailing fun!
Chartering, Cruising & Racing
If you're a couple or small group looking for a dedicated RYA training course or if you're wishing to concentrate on one or more specific skills, we'll be happy to arrange a dedicated charter to meet your needs. Your skipper will be a fully qualified RYA instructor.
In addition to our RYA courses we can also offer the opportunity to gain experience on races and offshore cruises. As well as being great fun, it's also a good way to build miles if you need them for further qualifications or if you simply want to do more sailing!.
Perhaps you'd like to make your first cross-channel crossing in experienced company or maybe you'd just like a relaxing trip or to be at that special event on the water. Let us help you take the boat there in comfort and safety.

- All practical and theory courses are run from Ocean Village Marina, Southampton
Additional Comments:
- By arrangement, some courses may start and/or end at Northney Marina, Chichester Harbour.
Most course will start and end at Ocean Village Marina but other nights will be spent at anchor, on a buoy or at another marina.
