Sailing Courses and Training:
Many of our clients are beginners and we specialise in teaching sailing techniques in the simplest possible way on our specially equipped sail training yacht. There is no mystique to sailing and novices will be surprised how they quickly acquire the basic skills in just a few days. Practical courses can be for 5 or 7 days. Additionally Competent Crew and Day Skipper may be taken over three weekends which don't have to be consecutive.

Poole is a 2.5 hours drive from London and is well served by coach and rail. You will join the yacht at our base at Cobbs Quay Marina, where you will have complimentary membership of the Yacht Club, free secure car parking and use of all shower and toilet facilities.

Practical courses are taken on board our principle sail training yacht, Ultra, a Bavaria 36 which is also available for bareboat charter. We also run milebuilding adventure cruises around the south coast, France and the Channel Islands.

Course Prices:
Prices are quotes based on three seasons:

• Mid (September/October and April/May)

• Theory courses include course pack and exam
• 2 Day courses commence at 20:30hrs on Friday and finish at 16:00hrs Sunday approx.
• 5 Day courses commence at 20:30hrs on Sunday and finish at 15:00hrs Friday approx.
• Examination fees are payable to the RYA for Coastal Skipper & Yachtmaster Examinations.
• Discounts - Previous clients are entitled to a 10% discount on all practical & 5 day theory courses, 10% off both theory & practical when booked together.
• Theory courses take place from Cobbs Quay Marina, Poole Harbour
• Credit cards :2% surcharge on all credit card payments

What's Included:
Practical courses include tuition, fuel, gas, accomodation, waterproofs on the yacht and all meals and drinks on board. Evening meals are not provided on joining evenings and weekends as we find at these times that our clients prefer to eat ashore. On 5 day courses evening meals are provided on 3 of the 5 nights, with the remaining 2 being ashore at your own expense.

Mooring fees away from our home base are included and harnesses and lifejackets are also provided. You will just need to bring a sleeping bag, warm comfortable clothes, and soft shoes.

We operate from Poole Harbour, an ideal base from which to explore the Dorset and Devon coastlines, the Solent, Channel Islands and France. The Principal, Noel Smith, a Yachtmaster Instructor with 30 years sailing experience teaches most courses himself. Our other skippers are all Yachtmasters chosen for their experience, skill, instructional ability and personality. At Moonfleet the emphasis is on safety to promote confidence and enjoyment whilst learning. We also believe that fun should be an important part of the course. We pride ourselves on our professionalism, the cleanlines and comfort of our boat, the superb quality of our food and the friendliness of our staff and are committed to offer you the very best. We are a small school where every client becomes a friend. We also have the flexibility to tailor courses to individual needs, so if you have any special requirements we will meet them. All diets are catered for on request.
