Nick and Lesley Pannell, fully qualified teachers
of many years’ experience, use their expertise now to run classes
in all aspects of the RYA Shorebased courses. Nick has been sailing
since 1977 and Lesley since 1983.
Nick, the Principal, has been a RYA Senior Instructor
for 17 years and was Croydon Schools Sailing Association Principal
for 17 years. He has sailed extensively in dinghies and sailing
cruisers. He is an RYA Senior Instructor, RYA Powerboat Instructor,
RYA Shorebased Instructor, VHF DSC Assessor and RYA First Aid Instructor.
Nick is also a St John Ambulance First Aid Trainer.
Lesley is an RYA First Aid Instructor.
What Can We Offer
PanPan offer small, effective and friendly classes in all the RYA
Shorebased courses. Top-up courses to suit the individual are a
feature of our operation. Just give us a ring to discuss your requirements
and we will tailor the course to suit you.
Our aim is to give you the background knowledge
to sail your dinghy or cruiser safely and  to
enjoy this exciting sport.
We associate with practical sailing schools
on the South Coast and on the East Coast to help you develop your
practical skills, so, from Croydon as a base, there is no limit

do travel to suitable venues, please enquire

- Own boat tuition is available within reasonable
travelling distance of Croydon
- ICC Prep - power or sail, one or two days depending
on previous experience and knowledge of theory. The ICC is becoming
more and more necessary for sailors abroad.
- GPS - Bought a GPS and want to use it more
effectively? We offer a brand new course to get you up to speed
with your GPS. Want to link it with your electronic navigation?
Want to buy electronic charts? Well we can advise and provide
the necessary training. Half day or day courses. Just ask.
- VHF-DSC-SRC: You may need a new digital VHF
when the coastguard finish keeping a radio watch on Channel 16
in 2005. Only 18 months to go! We specialise in upgrade courses
for existing VHF certificate holders or one-day courses for new
licensees. Don't get caught out! Group prices are very competitive-
10% discount.
