Arrow Yacht Enterprises is a charter organisation and sailing school with a difference. We specialise in teaching sailing at all levels, from introductory courses to long distance passage making for Yachtmaster Ocean candidates. Throughout the year we can offer holidays with instruction, cross-channel trips for those who wish to build up their experience, or convivial weekends afloat for those who just want to get away from it all. Our aim is to give you a good time whether you are learning or lounging, and to encourage you to come back for more. Our RYA courses take place on 'Arrow'. She is a Laurent Giles 45 foot cutter rigged ketch, and is a superb boat for teaching and cruising. She is extremely strong and safe, with bags of room and berths for ten, though normally there will never be more than six on board. She is licensed to carry 10, but for all events of more than one or two days, the maximum on board will be the skipper and five guests ensuring maximum comfort. Weighing in at 20 tons means she is stable and remains comfortable in any unclement weather, whilst her rig is powerful and gives her a good turn of speed on passage. When the wind drops, and there is a need to make port, her 90hp engine drives her at a steady speed to her destination. The navigation station is enormous! Specially set up to teach the latest in radar and chart plotting, the electronics are augmented with DSC/VHF radio, Navtex and Raymarine's latest instruments of log, echo sounder and wind indicator. A Cetrek autopilot takes the drudgery out of helming when on long passages. A generator can be used to charge the batteries as well as provide 220 volt electricity supply. Our Courses:
