Powerboat Courses:
KSPT is run by Chris Wilkinson and Henk Ruysch, both enthusiastic professional powerboaters who operate RIB's commercially as well as enjoying personal boating. We are keen to help others who wish to expand their enjoyment and experience of boats whilst helping them to aquire new knowledge and levels of safety. The school is an approved RYA training centre.

We are based in the picturesque port of Rye Harbour just outside the Cinque Port of Rye a popular place for visitors and near to the famous Camber sands, one of the largest sand beaches in England. Course times can vary due to tides since the harbour can dry out. We are able to arrange accomodation for clients visiting us from a distance.

We can also provide own boat tuition for people who have just purchased a new boat and want to have a familiarisation period under supervision. This is charged at a rate agreed with the client depending on their requirements.

Our courses are carried out on a 5.8m Osprey Rib with a 90HP 4 stroke Mercury outboard and all our courses carry a coastal endorsement.

Company Overview:
Rye Harbour Marine is operated by Henk Ruysch . He is also a partner in Kent & Sussex Powerboat Training (KSPT). He is very experienced in all areas of boating, is a member of the local RNLI crew, and also drives the pilot boat when the big ships come into harbour. He is involved in the preparation and maintenance of vessels that go to sea. Over the years he has acquired many qualifications to attain his professional status.

Ocean Attitude is a small Rib charter company operating a pair of the original Camel Trophy Ribs, built for the South Pacific Adventure in 2000. These vessels are operated under the British MCA coding and are prepared and operated to the highest standards. Chris is professionally qualified to the stringent requirements of the MCA.

Both Henk and Chris are committed seafarers. From their joint experiences of conditions and events at sea formed KSPT after witnessing and dealing with situations that could have been avoided had some form of prior training taken place. It is our firm belief that training not only introduces a greater level of safety to boat owners but greatly enhances their enjoyment of the sport.
