Come cruise with us
Once you’ve taken your RYA practical course at any level you’ll need to gain further sailing experience in order to progress.
Our milebuilder cruises give you the following:
- 300+ miles to record in your Log Book
- the opportunity to try ‘b
ig boat’ sailing
- experience of making longer passages involving watch-keeping
- two Yachtmaster qualifying passages of over 60 nautical miles
- at least one long overnight sail
- a week’s holiday with like-minded people
Although aimed at the more experienced sailor, it is possible for novices to come on the milebuilder if they are fit and adventurous.
You will sail on ‘Kronos’, an Ocean Star 51.2 sloop, built in 2000. She has comfortable living accommodation with two double and two trible cabins (each with private toilet/shower facilities) in addition to the skipper’s quarters. You’ll find a fully equipped galley with fridge, oven and coolbox, excellent navigation equipment, a powerful engine, and a bowthruster.
There is a spacious saloon and cockpit area for relaxing when you are not on watch.
Who is it For?
These trips are ideal for those who have successfully completed any RYA practical course. Also for those without RYA qualifications but who have at least six days sailing experience.

Cyclades, Peloponnese coast & Saronic Gulf - 31 May - 7 June & 25 Oct - 1 Nov - €875
The water surrounding the Cycladic islands is one of the world's most renowned cruising areas. In Spring and Autumn we usually avoid the worst of the Meltemi, which in mid-summer can keep yachts in port or create uncomfortable sailing conditions.
The exact route is weather dependent, but we plan to leave Kalamaki Marina, outside Athens, on Saturday night. You'll sail South-East through the Cyclades, stopping at various islands on the way, until the yacht reaches the island of Naxos - the largest (and possibly the loveliest) of the Cyclades. Next, you'll sail west to the volcanic island of Milos. After a day spent ashore, there will be a long overnight sail west to the ancient town of Monemvasia on the dramatic Peloponnese coast. From here you'll make your way back through the Hydra Channel and Saronic Gulf to Athens.
You'll cover around 350 miles in all, including two night sails, and two Yachtmaster qualifying passages.
